Thredbo - 28th April 2008
Get the skis out!
Well, maybe not quite yet - unless you’re willing to hike out to the Main Range. We got more snow than I was expecting yesterday….
I chose to go to Thredbo this morning because I was on a bit of a time constraint but also because I just wanted to check it out up there. If I wasn’t all fluey I probably would have headed up to Perisher and hiked with my rock hoppers for the first turns of the season. But I feel like hell and really don’t have the energy for that.
Anyway, I digress. Here’s a photo diary of my adventures this morning…
Nice sunrise this morning

Twin Valleys. I can’t believe how much snow is up there.

Thredbo is looking great. The top of the Supertrail looks easily skiable.

High Noon

I continued up to Dead Horse Gap. It’s only about 100m higher than Thredbo Village but it’s amazing how much difference in snowfall that made

It’s hard to guess without actually going up there but I’m thinking there’s at least 20cm above 1600m and even more above 1800m. This snow will hang around for quite a while.
