It’s about this time of year that I tend to start trawling the internet looking for up to date photos from Northern Hemisphere resorts just to see how the snow is. I don’t know why I do it - there’s no chance of me getting over there this year. I guess I might have some kind of morbid sadomasochistic streak in me. Anyway, I’ll be doing this throughout the summer so that other people can share my pain at being stuck in Australia for 6 months without snow. Here’s the first pics of the day for “summer” 2008-09.

It looks like some resorts in the Western US and Western Canada have been getting their first dustings for the season. There’s still over a month before most resorts open.

I’d love to be able to post surf reports in summer but I’m about 100km too far from the coast! Maybe one day I’ll be back at the beach, but then I won’t be able to post snow reports. Catch 22
